Kid YEARS aka Haydon Taylor is a young Canadian producer dropping that moody flavor of house I’ve been digging lately. My buddy Phil introduced me to him a few weeks ago and I’ve been sweating these tracks ever since. This guy has a ton of potential and I’m eagerly awaiting his future releases.

Bonobo – Kiara

There’s something instantly gripping about this Bonobo track. It manages to be hauntingly beautiful while simultaneously cracking you upside the head with a fat beat. I think it’s this contrast that won me over within seconds.

His Black Sands LP came out last month and it’s well worth your time.

Toro y Moi – You Hid

It’s been almost three months since I posted about Toro y Moi‘s track Talamak. In that time I’ve managed to become completely obsessed with almost every track off his new LP “Causers of This”. I really had to restrain myself from posting all of them on here. Pitchfork actually slammed “You Hid” as one of the weakest tracks on the album— but I call bullshit. This one is smooth like a warm glass of cough syrup.

Lone – Karen Loves Kate

Lone (aka Matt Cutler) is a producer out of Nottingham, known primarily for his warm and woozy hip-hop beats– falling somewhere between Boards of Canada and Flying Lotus. With its laid back airy vibe, Karen Loves Kate sounds like a something you’d hear at J-Dilla’s pool party.

Dr. Who Dat – Pharoah’s Dream

Can’t say I’m too familiar with Jneiro Jarel’s work. However, heard this track playing in a coffee shop this morning and was fortunate my blackberry was able to pick up the artist (Thanks Shazam!). A nice laid back tune to kick back to on a Sunday.

Saint Etienne – Spring (Air France Remix)

It’s been a while since I was completely obsessed with the Swedish electronic duo Air France‘s No Way Down EP, which is amazing and got some serious play. This is a remix of the 1991 track “Spring” by Saint Etienne and it’s nothing short of ‘the shit’.

Washed Out – Feel It All Around / New Theory

Two solid tracks from Washed Out (aka Ernest Greene). This guy’s been making beats from his bedroom for a while, but just recently started cranking out these dreamy, blunted synthpop tracks. His Life of Leisure EP has been in heavy rotation the past couple weeks.
